SLIP Beneficiaries and Service Providers Receive Equipment

Beneficiaries and Service Providers of the Skills for Life and Income Project (SLIP) have received their equipment and have been enrolled in the various skills training.

The event which took in place, from May15th to 17th, 2023 brought together Beneficiaries and Service Providers of the KGL-supported initiative being implemented by SELL Programme Ghana in Nandom in the Upper West Region.

The SELL Team met with Service Providers and discussed the modalities for the training of Beneficiaries. Payments of training fees were effected and contract were signed between SELL Ghana and the Service Providers for the conduct of the training.

The Beneficiaries, drawn from ten (10) communities each received a sowing machine, hairdressing materials, weaving loom and its accessories. Beneficiaries of Pig Farming will later receive piglets for the piggery.

The Beneficiaries, aged between 15 to 25 years, were paired with Service Providers and are expected to undergo the training in the various life skills modules.

Overall, fifty (50) young adults (made up of fifteen (15) beneficiaries in Tailoring, fifteen (15) beneficiaries in Hairdressing, fifteen (15) in Piggery and five (5) beneficiaries in Weaving respectively) will be trained in livelihood and income generating skills.
